what do you get your Dad?
Run out of ideas as to what to buy my Dad for Christmas. I've got him and mum a main present, a stereo, but what else? All the mags and papers ever run is socks, scarves, hipflasks and joke golf t-shirts. He doesn't need smellies, alcohol, mugs, books, CDs blah blah.

Surely the stereo will be enough on its own? After all, tis the thought.
you're absolutely right. It is the thought-that-count things that are so difficult. One year I tracked down a song that he'd loved Simon and the Amazing Dancing Bear by someone or other, and he loved that more than anything! I think I mean it's easy to buy the big stuff, but the thoughtful stuff gets harder (for the man, who, at 75, does really have everything!)
Thanks for your comment, have a great week
